Jeremy then 46, a 747 Captain and father of three sons has had personal experience of melanoma and saw an opportunity to use Jetski Around NZ to promote a SunSmart message during the summer.
The 2010 London to Sydney to Auckland project ups the ante on the New Zealand trip - the total distance is about 31,000 km which will be a Guinness World Record by 12,000km. It should take around 4 months. The Ride started 1 August.
Update:
Unfortunately, the trip we set out to make was not ultimately successful. After being battered by extreme conditions off the coast of Greece, our machines encountered serious problems and began to take on water. All parties are healthy and safe. But following this setback it was determined that traveling from country to country around the globe on our personal watercraft was no longer an option.
Rest assured that we will continue to spread awareness for cancer and cancer treatment as well as healthy living. We'd like to thank anyone and everyone who has supported us in this journey. Although, we didn't accomplish what we had set out to do, we still accomplished more than could have been imagined at the outset.
Special Thanks to:
• Sea-Doo Watercraft- for providing us great machines that kept us safe through daunting elements.
• BuyERP- Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 software that helped us plan and track our finances throughout the journey.
• Jayco, Inc.- for helping us shelter ourselves and travel in as much comfort as was possible.
• Trailer Valet- traler jacks that helped us independently maneuver our watercraft and get to launch successfully.
